I love to read and suffer with an overactive imagination. The Den of Mischief is my little corner to share some of my original yarns with others, much as they may not be.
The majority of my writings are short stories. Ever since I was a young child I’ve preferred the no-frills structure of shorts, not to mention the ability to finish reading them in a single sitting. I may drop a piece of flash fiction or even a twisted sonnet here from time to time, but most often my postings will be shorts of under 10k words in length.
I enjoy stories of all genres as a reader and writer, but the short story form has always seemed to be best suited–in my humble opinion–to Adventures, Tales of Horror, and Science Fiction. So, I’ve decided to limit the scope of my writings which I post here to those areas.
I hope you will enjoy what you read here and use the Comments feature after each story to tell me how wonderful you think I am.
But, if you would rather comment just to call me a hack with a severe lack of imagination, well, that’s okay too. I’d still love to hear from you and promise to not become offended.
I write to connect and provoke. Sometimes I may aim for the funny bone, and sometimes I’m hoping to scare the shit out of someone. But at the end of the day I’m perfectly content to know I struck a nerve…
